Troubleshooting Ford Ranger Trucks

This post gives brief description about troubleshooting Ford Ranger trucks.

Troubleshooting Door Locks

The Ford Rangers comes with door locking system, and pressing the automatic locking buttons or turning a key in the lock may not work. This is a major problem with the car, if the lock fails, it may be tough to deal with the door lock, especially the one located on the driver’s door. People think this that it is an electrical problem, but there is no problem with the fuses.

There is one set into the bottom of each and every door lock and sometimes they short out. Before you changing this door lock, first try to remove the door’s service panel. Removing the door service panel on a Ford Ranger isn’t that easy, and after removing door panel, there could be problem in fitting the panel back.

Troubleshooting the Remote Opener

The Ford Rangers comes with the remote door openers as a standard option. The standard remote usually stops working satisfactorily after covering 15,000 miles on the road, and this can happen for a few reasons.

To prevent these problems first check the remote to ensure whether battery is charged or not. Next, check the fuse box located near the bottom left hand side of the driver’s side foot. It should be located near the base of the steering column. Check that all the fuses are all functioning properly with a voltage meter when the engine is running.
